Cape Disappointment

We finally made it to the Cape Disappointment lighthouse, after several disappointing attempts. The hike to the lighthouse was fun but the visitor center was far more interesting than we expected.

The old grist mill - Woodland WA

We had been planning a visit to the old grist mill since we moved to the Vancouver area and finally made it this fall. Apparently the mill is open on the weekends but we arrived on a Monday. We hiked upstream a bit and saw the fish and game experts checking the fish tags on the salmon headed upstream.

Emma

Little Emma was only a few months old when we did her photo shoot. She appears to have loved every minute of it.

The Arboretum Wedding

Some amazing friends held their wedding at the Seattle arboretum, but what made the evening special was the party.

Washington State Capitol

We stopped by the state capitol in Olympia on one of our trips home from Seattle. I had never been to the building and the architecture is worth seeing.

Norman Rockwell Art to Life

I took this photo and it just reminds me so much of a Rockwell painting. Maybe missing the "Gone Fishing" sign. :)

The Wedding at Holy Names

This wedding was amazing fun! And clearly the venue was stunning. Best wishes to my great friends Chris and Megan!

Frank Church Wilderness Area

For full disclosure I need to say that I did not take this picture. I did do the processing and editing and I thought it was worth sharing. If you have never been to the Frank Church Wilderness Area in Idaho it is a great place for backpacking!

Film Noir

I did this photos series for a Film Noir themed contest. A short but fun story.

At first it seemed like just another case of a missing girl.

The only clue was a necklace she left behind. . . .

But any case that ends with a kiss from a grateful dame is a good one.

Be the Bee

This was just my favorite from a recent batch of bumble bee photos. The color and isolation is a bit unusual and he was posing a bit.

Meeting Crosby

Crosby has more hair than any kid his age. He wears it with great panache!

Mark and Kat Sneak Peak

This beautiful wedding was held in Bellevue WA. Not every day I have the privilege of photographing a gorgeous bride in a Vera Wang.

Wildflowers of western Washington

I have been out taking photos like this all spring. The flowers are truly beautiful on this side of the mountains. My allergies are overwhelmed.

Long Drive Home

I took the long way home on Highway 12 at sunset. The evening light and the scenic barns make magic.

Puppy!

We have a puppy! She chases her own tail. We think she is a rottweiler and shepherd mix of some kind.

Tembo and the Marula Fruit

I am thrilled to announce my first official published book. Most of you probably thought this would be on some scientific topic but I am proud to say it is actually illustrated. :)

My co-authors are a wonderful group of women engineers. I admit that I contributed little to the story narrative so they get all the credit for Tembo's great adventure.

You can read the whole book online, and don't feel required to buy one since we don't receive any profits. :)

Art for Science Sake

I entered a few of the math photos in the Art for Science Sake contest sponsored by The Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation.

Edit: Just found out I am a finalist!

Mt. Rainier

We took a wonderful day hike in Rainier last fall. Just now posting these but they are beautiful!
