King Canyon National Park

We took the time to visit Hetch Hetchy, a beautiful section of Yosemite National Park. Well worth the side trip.

A few days in Yosemite National Park, it was crowded even in May but well worth the visit.

San Francisco + trolley rides!

We were tight on time but we rode the trolley from the warf up to the heart of the city. 

Astoria in Spring

We had a short weekend trip to Astoria, great view of a large cargo ship. We also went to the North Head Lighthouse, always a favorite.

Alcatraz Island

On our lightning tour of San Francisco we did take the ferry to Alcatraz. It was every bit as dark as I remembered (third grade maybe?) but more photogenic than I thought!

Cher and Ian

In May I photographed this amazing wedding in California. My good friends put on a spectacular party and the weather was perfect.

Columbia River Gorge

Two of my favorite falls in the Columbia river gorge and Crown Point. Beautiful as always.

Winter frost

Crater Lake

We stopped at Crater Lake in late May. The road was only plowed to the main lodge, they said they are always pleased if they have the full rim road plowed by the 4th of July.

Mt Shasta

We had a few minutes to enjoy Mt. Shasta on our way south through California. Elevation 14,180 feet (4,322 m) it is the largest volcano by volume in the Cascade range. It does make the sailboat look tiny.

Emma's Day at the Beach

We took the colorful Emma to the beach for a day. She makes a nice rainbow in front of the North Head lighthouse.

Shoshone Falls

When I would visit Shoshone falls as a small kid I was always amazed that the rainbow seemed to be permanent. Still seems cool now but I like it in black as white as well.

The Tulip Fields

This year I stopped by the Woodburn tulip festival on my way home one day. A bit different with the cloudy drama, but fun photos.
